Privacy Policy
This page explains what data Aplet processes when you use the service, who processes it, and how long it is kept.
What we process
- Images or a PDF of the one letter you upload.
- Your email address (so we can send you the result).
- Your payment data (card token and transaction, handled directly by Stripe — we do not receive or store card numbers).
Where the data goes
- Anthropic (USA) — the letter image is sent to our AI partner for analysis. The resulting text, not the image, is returned to you.
- Resend — sends the result text to your email address.
- Stripe — processes the €9.99 payment.
- Vercel — hosts the application.
Retention
- Aplet's own servers do not persistently store your letter. The image lives only in the memory of the request that processes it and is discarded when the request ends.
- Anthropic may retain inputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, according to Anthropic's usage policy.
- Stripe retains transaction records as required by applicable law.
- Resend retains email delivery logs.
International transfers
Anthropic is based in the United States. By using Aplet you consent to the transfer of your letter to the US for AI processing under the relevant data transfer safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses).
Legal basis (GDPR)
- Performance of contract — you request a paid service; we deliver it.
- Consent — by starting an upload and payment, you consent to the data flow above.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, portability, and objection, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. For data held by third-party processors (Anthropic, Stripe, Resend) you may contact them directly; we will assist where we can.
